Virtual Wall is an innovative device that makes it safer for pedestrians to cross the road by projecting laser images when the red traffic light is on.

Designed by Hanyoung Lee, the goal is to heighten driver and pedestrian awareness and to encourage both to follow the crosswalk rules. [via]

Amazing the innovations that are created every day. The only thing that I'm concerned about is that if we add enough of these, what is the cost involved? What is the cost involved in powering them? In a world struggling for resources, is this something we want to attempt to implement?
