I ran across this article over at CBC news and was really interested when I read that a game was being designed for education. As a parent I love to hear that Schools and other education facilities are utilizing technology, that our children use day to day, to increase their scope of learning.

The article states:

Immune Attack is a 3D action game where the player controls a microscopic robot and helps a patient fight off a bacterial infection from inside her bloodstream.

The player retrains the patient's ailing white blood cells to mount an effective defence against the invasion of germs.

The Federation of American Scientists (FAS) developed the game as an educational tools to help students with their knowledge of cellular and molecular biology.

It also gives a demo video, which we will get to in a few minutes. The official game's website is located here, where it gives a small description of the game.

You must navigate a nanobot through a 3D environment of blood vessels and connective tissue in an attempt to save an ailing patient by retraining her non-functional immune cells. Along the way, you will learn about the biological processes that enable macrophages and neutrophils – white blood cells – to detect and fight infections.

Here's the demo video:

You can download the game here.
